Mike has over 25 years of broad and varied experience in the healthcare industry. Over the course of his career, he has worked with integrated delivery systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals, single specialty and multi specialty physician groups, community health centers, human service providers and emergency medical service providers.

His areas of expertise include accounting and financial management, revenue cycle management, managed care contracting, physician compensation planning and administration, ambulatory practice and hospital department operations, strategic planning and program development. Mike is particularly well known for his turn-around experience as a finance executive and for his ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful information for non-finance staff.

A certified public accountant, he received a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Salem State College, with honors, and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Operations Management from Bentley College. An active member since 1993, he currently serves as President-Elect of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter. Additionally, from 2005 to 2008, Mike served as the treasurer and chair of the finance committee of the board of directors for Bridgewell, Inc. a non-profit human services provider located in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Lastly, Mike is a member of the faculty at Simmons College and Boston University where he teaches courses on non-profit accounting and healthcare finance.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a Fellow of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Medical Group Management Association. In the early years of his career, Mike served as an EMT and paramedic with the North Suburban Emergency Medical Consortium in Burlington, Massachusetts and then with Grant Thornton, LLP as an auditor and tax specialist. Mike resides in Melrose, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
